Angular Distribution of Photoelectrons from Atomic Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Carbon
نویسندگان
چکیده
The angular distributions of photoelectrons from atomic oxygen, nitrogen and carbon are calculated. Both Hartree-Fock and Hartree-Slater (Herman-Skillman) wave functions are used for oxygen, and the agreement is excellent; thus only Hartree-Slater functions are used for carbon and nitrogen. The pitch angle distribution of photoelectrons is discussed and it is shown that previous approximations of energy independent isotropic or sin2 θ distributions are at odds with our results, which vary with energy. This variation with energy is discussed as is the reliability of these calculations.

Selective Grafting of Primary Amines onto Carbon Nanotubes via Free-Radical Treatment in Microwave Plasma Post-Discharge
A novel strategy to graft functional groups at the surface of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is discussed. Aiming at grafting nitrogen containing groups, and more specifically primary amine covalent functionalization, CNTs were exposed under atomic nitrogen flow arising from an Ar + N2 microwave plasma. The primary amine functions were identified and quantified through chemical derivatization with 4-(...
متن کاملRange Distributions of Low-energy Nitrogen and Oxygen Ions in Silicon (RESEARCH NOTE)
The range distributions of low-energy nitrogen and oxygen (2-3 keV) ions is silicon are measured and compared with these available in theories. The nitrogen distribution is very close to a Gaussian distribution as predicted by theory. The oxygen profile however, indicates a surface localized peak along with a shoulder and a long tail into the sample. The surface peak is beleived to he the resul...
متن کاملThe Impacts of Land Use Change in Soil Carbon and Nitrogen Stocks (Case Study Shahmirzad Lands, Semnan Province, Iran)
Soil carbon and nitrogen contents play an important role in sustaining soil physical and chemical quality and help to have healthy environments. The continues conversion of rangelands to arable lands has the potential to change carbon and nitrogen sequestration. In this study to evaluate the effects of land use change on soil organic carbon and nitrogen stock, forty samples collected from north...
متن کاملEffect of Elliptically Polarized Light on the Angular Distribution of Photoelectrons
The angular distribution of photoelectrons predicted for elliptically polarized light is shown to be the same as that predicted for partially polarized light having incoherent perpendicular electric field components equal to the electric field components along the major and minor axes of the ellipse. Increasing use by atomic experimenters of synchrotron radiation, which is known to be elliptica...
متن کاملPhysical Properties of Reactively Sputter-Deposited C-N Thin Films
This work aims to prepare and study amorphous carbon nitride (CNx) films. Films were deposited by reactive magnetron radiofrequency (RF) sputtering from graphite target in argon and nitrogen mixture discharge at room temperature. The ratio of the gas flow rate was varied from 0.1 to 1. Deposited films were found to be amorphous. Highest Nitrogen concentration achieved was 42 atomic percent whic...
